Lamb in Yogurt (Yakhani)


Ingredients:


• 750 gm lamb pieces

• 1 ½ cup yogurt

• 1 tsp ginger powder

• Garam masala (ground or whole)

• 1 tbsp oil

• Pinch of hing (rock salt)  

• ½ cup sour cream

• Salt to taste



Method:


Take ½ cup of water in a sauce pan. Add lamb and garam masala. Cook lamb with spices for 1 hour or until the lamb is tender. Beat yogurt well, with sour cream and ginger powder. Add yogurt mixture to lamb. Cook lamb with yogurt for 5 minutes and this will become Yakhani. Warm oil in a pan, and pour over Yakhani. Grind green elaichi and cumin and add to Yakhani in cooker. Serve with white boiled rice.
